Cal Grants
A Cal Grant is based on your financial need, but has a minimum GPA and other eligibility requirements. If you receive a Cal Grant, it can be used at any qualifying college in California. You must submit your FAFSA by March 2 to be considered for a Cal Grant.
In addition to the FAFSA, students who are California residents and are applying to a college or university in California should submit a Cal Grant GPA Verification Form. By submitting this form, along with your FAFSA, you will be considered for grants offered by the State of California to undergraduate students who meet the financial, academic and eligibility requirements.
Find out how your school will submit your verified Cal Grant GPA. If your school does not submit the GPA for you, you must fill out the GPA Verification Form that the school can sign. Don’t forget to mail the form after both you and your school sign it.
If you’ll be submitting Cal Grant GPA Verification Form, be sure to make a copy for your records and obtain a Certificate of Mailing from the Post Office so that you can verify the date you mailed your forms.
